Since Marwan Al-Syriani arrived in Germany, he has been trying to spread the word about his motherland Palestine and to inform about the conflict in the Middle East. When you are abroad, you feel even more related to your native country. That is why Marwan has organized and carried out several activities:
Lecture titled Palestine – Holy Land on November 6th 1998 at a student hostel in Bonn.
Oriental evening at the ESG-BONN* (Lutheran student group) Bonn, May 31st 1999
Lecture titled „an introduction on the Middle East conflict“ at the Lutheran student group Bonn, June 23rd, 1999
Publication of an article in the Christmas supplement of the german Nordwest Newspaper (NWZ)* titled „hard times in the Holy town of Bethlehem“ on December 23rd, 2000 in which he reported on the situation in Bethlehem.
„I don’t give up hope“, an article on a project of reconciliation between Palestinian and Israeli students initiated by John Campbell-Cohen, the oversees-students-tutor of the Lutheran student group Bonn, published in the german General-Anzeiger-newspaper* on May 21st, 2002
publication of an article on „the difficult situation of the town Bethlehem“ in the magazine „Mardutho D-Suryoye“*, magazine of the federation of Arameans (Suryoye) in Germany, issue June 2002
We hope that Marwan will find enough strength and support in the future to continue with such activities.
